Purpose (Why we do this):
Horizon Realty Advisors provides equal opportunity housing to any person that qualifies. We adhere to the federal Fair Housing Act and state laws, as well as provide each person with superior customer service.
Policy (What you’re supposed to do):
HRA does not discriminate against any person based on race, color, religion, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), disability, familial status, or national origin, or intention to make such preference, limitation or discrimination. We expect all team members (including vendors) to join with and uphold this commitment.
All applications, leases, and resident policies shall contain the following language, "All persons will be treated fairly and equally without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, familial status, source of income, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity."
Procedure (HRA Way!):
By adhering to the Pledge, Fair Housing, and being consistent with every person, we will exercise nondiscriminatory practices. All team members shall model appropriate non-discriminatory behavior and strive to cultivate and maintain a living environment that is free from discrimination. All HRA employees are required to complete Fair Housing courses on a regular basis.
Tours: HRA requires each prospect to provide valid photo identification to the office before a tour. Guest cards are required to be filled out for every prospect, regardless of qualification, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, familial status, source of income, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Every guest card will not be permitted to contain any discriminatory verbiage or verbiage that suggests discrimination.
Residents: It is the policy of HRA to provide reasonable accommodations and to allow residents with disabilities to make reasonable modifications upon request, with a provision of appropriate documentation.
Reporting: All HRA members (including vendors) are required by law to promptly report allegations of discrimination that they observe or learn about to their direct supervisor or HR (hr@horizonra.com).
