Installing Lenovo System Update

Modified on Mon, 21 Apr at 2:03 PM

This guide will walk you through installing the Lenovo System Update tool.

Only Lenovo computers (for example Thinkcentre desktop and Thinkpad laptops) will use this to update the machine. If you have another type of computer, contact Tech Support for assistance.

Start by checking to see if you already have the tool installed

Click your start menu icon or search icon in the taskbar at the bottom of your screen.

Begin typing "sys" (you don't need to click in the search box, it will automatically appear in the right place). Look for the System Update app icon. If the icon appears in your search, it is already installed and you should follow the guide for running the application.

Otherwise, continue with this guide.

In Chrome, go to Google.com and type "lenovo system update tool" as shown below.

Click the first link, it should appear like the image below.

On the page for the tool, click the down arrow under Download.

Choose a location to save the file and click Save. Typically you'll want to save in the Downloads folder.

At the bottom of your chrome window you'll see the download once it's completed. Click to run it.

Click Next at this window

Follow the prompts to complete the installation, then go to the guide for running the System Update tool here.
