New Computer Set Up

Here are the steps to configure a new computer or one that has been reset to factory settings.

 

To disable the internet requirement during setup, you can:


Open Command Prompt using the keyboard shortcut Shift + F10
Type OOBE\BYPASSNRO to disable the internet connection requirement
The computer will reboot and return to the screen
Press Shift + F10 again and type ipconfig /release
Press Enter to disable the internet
Close the command prompt
Continue with the installation and choose the region

 

After powering on the machine for the first time, you will see the window below.


Click Yes



Click yes on the US keyboard layout.



Skip the second keyboard layout.



Connect to your Wi-Fi.



Click Next after you connect.



Click Accept.



Name the computer. I like to name them based on the employee position they will be used by such as Leasing1, Leasing2, AcctMgr, etc. 



Highlight "Set up for work or school".




Sign in with the email account of the user that will be at this computer. 

(Note) If you are a manager or supervisor of the person using this machine, feel free to sign in with your email credentials to give yourself admin access and a profile on the computer.



After entering the email credentials click Next through the settings.



Click Next through the settings.



Click Next through the settings.



Click Skip at this screen.




Set up your fingerprint if you would like. If you don't see this move to the next step. 



Click OK. 



Set up your pin. This is to log into the computer.



Click OK.



After clicking OK, you will be taken to the desktop.  '

 

Install the following apps:

 

Installer for Chrome web browser and Teamviewer


Ccleaner


Adober Reader DC


Lenovo System update (assuming they are Lenovo machines):
