Sharing/Sending Large Files Via Email

Modified on Wed, 18 Jun at 3:21 PM

Most email servers will not allow more than 5-10Mbs of attached files.

To circumvent this you will need to save your files in OneDrive and Share them with a link.

First save your file(s) to your OneDrive if they aren't already. You can also drag and drop the file to OneDrive if its already saved to your computer.

Note - If you are syncing OneDrive to your computer the file should already be in OneDrive. If not please see this article to do so:

Back Up Computer to OneDrive

Open office.com, click the Apps option in the left column and select OneDrive. Then navigate to the file.

Click the ellipsis next to the file and select "Copy Link" rather than "Share". The Share option is more for intercompany sharing.

Click the "Anyone with the link can edit" section.

Adjust the setting you prefer. For instance you may want to set an expiration date to revoke access in the future. Click the Apply button.

Click the Copy button.

Paste the link in an email to share. It will look something like this.
