Move-Out Inspections

Modified on Mon, 21 Apr at 11:05 AM

Purpose (Why we do this):

HRA follows specific steps at move-out to ensure fair housing standards are met & each unit is properly documented at the exact time a resident turns in keys.

Policy (What you're supposed to do):

Please follow these steps when a resident moves out:
  • Resident placed on notice as soon as their intent to move-out is clear.
  • Forwarding address should be collected on or prior to move-out day.
  • Upon move-out, resident's ledger should be reviewed to confirm all charges & credits are accurate.
  • Inspecting the apartment & closing the account accurately takes a team effort. Review the diagram in the Procedure below.
  • The apartment should be inspected within 24 hours of move-out, regardless of when the next move-in is scheduled.
  • Once the FMO is completed, it must be emailed & mailed to the leaseholder and the guarantor immediately.
  • Please make sure to process the deposit refund in a timely manner as dictated by the state law (refer to your lease document for details).
