SMART Card/Quarterly Reviews

All Horizon employees that receive a quarterly bonus should have a SMART card in place. The SMART card is created by the manager and employee.


SMART cards should be created at the beginning of each quarter and reviewed at the end of the quarter before a bonus can be paid out.


The goals should be created in the Performance dashboard of Paylocity, and then reviewed using the HRA Pledge Review template. (Please refer to the Annual Performance Reviews article for instructions on how to create a review in Paylocity).


Creating a goal in Paylocity:


Navigate to the Performance dashboard -> Goals -> Create a Goal.


2. Follow the prompts to enter the details of the goal and assign the goal to the desired employee.


Please be sure to include at least 3 measurable goals that apply to the employee's job responsibilities.

Account Manager Examples:

  • Recurring payment opt in % increase by 10%
  • $0 DQ for the quarter
  • Exceed damage budget by 5%
  • Bad Debt at or below .3%

Maintenance Supervisor Examples:

  • R&M expenses in line with or below budget
  • Increase average maintenance survey score - 5 stars
  • Maintain a 24 hour service request completion plan
