Purpose (Why we do this):
To be a Market Leader by increasing brand recognition, establishing a relationship with your relevant demographic, and improving visibility for your off-campus community.
Policy (What you're supposed to do):
You can advertise your community by handing out flyers on campus on a consistent basis. Campus tabling will market the benefits of your community and assist with brand awareness.
Preparing for campus tabling is key. Make sure you have all supplies prepared the day before you do your outreach. Make sure you have tables, chairs, table cloth, etc. ready to go the day before. Bring guest cards or iPads (and have them charged up) to collect prospect info. Consider taking a wagon so you can easily move to different high-traffic areas!
Create a marketing flyer that highlights your community's amenities, creates urgency, and includes a call to action. Take branded swag or snacks/drinks with property-branded stickers! This will help bring traffic to you. Consider having a conversation starter like a game or poster to attract attention.
Procedure (HRA Way!):
Make It Fun! Play upbeat music, stay standing to greet people, and don't be afraid to start the conversation by asking "Do you have a place to live for Fall?"
Check with your University to review your on-campus outreach options; if you are not allowed to table at your University there are other avenues to market on campus. Consider posting flyers on bulletins, dorm storms, or walk the campus and hand out flyers/goodies. If your campus is strict about on-campus marketing, research if off off-campus housing office can help market for you!
